The Astronaut Hall of Fame hosted by the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation honors 2024 inductees into the hall of fame

December 16, 2024

The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation hosted its annual induction ceremony at the Kennedy Space center, where they honored the 2024 inductees.

The foundation was created by the Mercury 7 astronauts who envisioned a place where the accomplishments of astronauts could be celebrated and showcased to the public. This vision led to the creation of the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame® in 1990, with the members of the Mercury 7 inducted as the inaugural class.

The event featured a special address by Michael Markesbery, a previous Astronaut Scholarship award winner. Michael Markesbery, Solarcore CEO, was granted this scholarship during his time at Miami University, and it was this opportunity that gave Markesbery and co-founder Rithvik Venna the capital to launch Solarcore.  Markesbery shared his experiences and highlighted the impact of the scholarship on his career, emphasizing the importance of supporting future generations in STEM fields.
